AFTERCARE INFORMATION
Your tattoo is a fresh wound and needs to be cared for accordingly to avoid infection or scarring.
Follow these steps while your new tattoo is healing:
-
When you leave here your tattoo will be cleaned and bandaged
-
ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE CARING FOR YOUR TATTOO
-
Remove the bandage after 1-2 days
-
Wash your tattoo with anti-bacterial unscented soap. Be gentle and use your hands to wash it, not a washcloth or anything that will exfoliate the tattoo
-
Gently pat dry with a paper towel, do not rub back and forth
-
Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion, I recommend Lubriderm as I have found it has worked the best for my own tattoos
-
Repeat steps 4-6 daily 1-3 times, as needed
-
Do not reapply any bandages
-
Continue this process for 2-4 weeks until your tattoo no longer looks dry or scabbed
-
Once your tattoo has finished healing be sure to protect it with sunscreen
Try not to wear clothing that will stick to your tattoo. Wear clean, soft clothing for the first 2 weeks, nothing irritating or abrasive.

It is normal for your tattoo to scab a bit, never pick, scratch, or peel it. This can cause infection or may remove the colour.

You may shower, but do not soak your tattoo for 2 weeks. Avoid swimming, soaking, and hot tubs.

Do not expose your tattoo to the sun for at least 3 weeks, after that use sunscreen with SPF 45 or higher.

Wash all gym equipment well before using it.

If you believe your tattoo to be infected, or not healing properly, please see your doctor.

Remember your tattoo is a permanent addition to your body and needs ongoing care to keep it as bright as possible and prevent fading. Continue to protect it from the sun and moisturize even when it has finished healing.
